Two Baloch leaders shot dead

NAWABSHAH: Two leaders of the Balochistan Republican Party (BRP) were shot dead and their bullet-riddled bodies dumped in the Pai forest, adjacent
to Mari Jalbani village, here on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Mureed Khan Bugti and Noor Muhammad Rind.According to the SHO of the Mari Jalbani police station, Mureed Khan
Bugti came to Nawabshah to purchase agriculture land from Noor Muhammad Rind, adding both were shot dead when they were sleeping. He said the
killings might have been the result of some old enmity.
However, the brother of slain Mureed Bugti, Abdul Karim Bugti, denied enmity with anyone. Meanwhile, DSP Sakrand Allah Dino Junejo put the number of
killers at three and said all of them had fled. Later, the body of Mureed Khan Bugti was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.

Quetta: A private TV channel has reported that an important leader of Baloch Republican Party (BRP) Murid Bugti and his cousin Noor Mohammad Bugti
have been murdered in Sakrund in Sindh. According to the private TV channel, miscreants cordoned off the house of BRP leader Murid Bugti located in
the Sakrand region in Sindh and killed the leader along with his cousin in the attack.
The spokesman of BRP Sher Muhammad Bugti has confirmed the murder of his party leader and alleged Pakistani security forces and pro-government
Laskhar for his killing. In his statement he said on martyrdom of party leader party has announced three days mourning.
Earlier this year a pro-government lashkar was formed to counter pro-independent Baloch who have been struggle for independence of Balochistan.
However it is widely believed that the setting up of the pro-government lashkar and nominating Aali Bugti has the new cheif of Bugti tribe is the
continuation of the divide and rule policy of the Pakistani government.

Kalpars accept responsibility for Mureed Bugti’s killing
QUETTA: June 24, 2009: A spokesman for the Kalpar clan of the Bugti tribe on Tuesday accepted responsibility for the assassination of Baloch
Republican Party’s (BRP) central committee member Mureed Bugti on June 19. Refuting the BRP’s allegations against the government and the loyalists
of Mir Aali Bugti for Mureed’s killing, Wadera Khair Din – a spokesman for the Kalpar Bugtis – telephoned the media and said Mureed had been killed,
as per Baloch tradition, to avenge the murder of innocent people which Mureed had sponsored during his life time.
He condemned the BRP for calling the assassination a case of political killing. “The BRP is fooling the people of Balochistan. Mureed was not a political
leader but a source of lawlessness and constant trouble to the area with his terrorist activities,” he said. “He [Mureed] carried out attacks against my
family at least six times. In a landmine blast, my brother Shah Gul and nephew Gul Baig were killed. Therefore, we decided to avenge the murder of our
men by killing Mureed. There is no politics involved; this is tribal revenge,” he added. malik siraj akbar.
